Pre-work #7


Doing The Alcohol Experiment is one of the absolute best decisions you can make.

Have you heard of the ‘One Big Domino’ theory? The idea is to identify the one big thing you can do, or big change that you can make that by doing it everything else becomes easier.

For me, and for so many others, removing alcohol was the One Big Domino.

Getting mindful and back in the driver’s seat with drinking has impacted my life in ways that I never realized possible. From my relationship with my husband, to my health, to my career - it is truly staggering.

I am certain that by doing this first, knocking down this Big Domino, you are opening up possibilities that will blow your mind! I am so excited for you!

We kick off tomorrow. And here is what you can expect:

• Daily Contact and Content: Every day, a new video lesson will be available in the This Naked Mind membership area and I’ll email you to remind you to watch it. I will post a video in the facebook group with a tactic or the answer to a common question or my responders viewpoint on the video.

• Live Community: The facebook group will be as active as you make it. You are safe here - it is responders only. So please share, ask, and lean on your people!

• ACT Lessons (AKA Incredible Mindset Shifts!): Every few days Annie will share an ACT. (Awareness, Clarity, Turnaround). We’ve identified 8 beliefs that kept us stuck. We will be tackling them all!

• Coaching: one-on-one and group support from your peer mentor, a certified This Naked Mind coach. I was in your boots last year and I remember what this was like. It’s not awesome, but it also doesn’t have to be the worst. I’ve got your six.

HOMEWORK - due tomorrow!

  1. Join the This Naked Mind membership section and request access to the private Facebook group

  2. Download Marco Polo and Zoom, for access to our one-on-one and group meeting

  3. If you haven’t yet, watch the key ‘pre-work’ videos.

  4. Take a selfie. This is your before photo, and it’s just for you, but TRUST ME, you are going to want it!

  5. Weigh yourself, while there is no guarantee you will lose weight, 73% of people do! So you might as well know how much.

  6. Shift your mindset: remember this is an experiment. You are just going to see where this takes you and in reality it is all about what you gain (not what you are giving up!).

  7. Grab a field notebook or journal from Amazon. Of get to know the notes app on your phone. Each day, after watching the daily video, there will be reflection questions. Part of my eventual success was finally keeping track of my thoughts, emotions, behaviors, concerns, and progress. It was DOING THE HOMEWORKS. I know journaling feels awkward but it is critical. I’ll talk more about this later.
